Why We are a CDFI

As a mission driven community development corporation, we felt the duty to our communities and future borrowers to certify our model through a U.S .Treasury Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) certification. This certification allows us to further leverage long standing banking relationships to jointly tackle the important issue of uplifting communities and providing financing to an undeserved population.

As a large CDFI, we also carry a responsibility to bridge the gap between public and private funding to make sure that the flow of capital to smaller CDFIs doing incredible work in their communities, especially as federal and state budgets tighten.

We hope to lead the industry into an a broader impact investment landscape where capital market solutions and public dollar leverage expand the transformative work CDFIs do across the country.
